Inspired by the ideology of Arya Samaj and Swami Dayanand—Late Ch. Shiv Ram Verma, Ex-Minister of Haryana and Late Ch. Ishwar Singh, Ex-Speaker of Haryana alongwith prominent people of the area took a leading initiative with an aim of propagating girls education in this rural area of Haryana and on 12-10-1980 Kanya Gurukul Shiksha Samiti, Anjanthali (Karnal) come into existence. The purpose was to provide girls education on Gurukul pattern in this educationally neglected area. The Panchayat of village Anjanthali led by its sarpanch Late Ch. Partap Singh donated 50 acres of land for this purpose. The foundation of this educational institution in this area was nothing but a zealous attempt to provide light of knowledge to those who had been suffering in the darknen of ignorance.
Kanya Gurukul Shiksha Samiti is making effort to expand girls education at various levels from Primary to Senior Secondary level and further upto Higher Education. The Samiti is running two educational institutions i.e. M.D.Arya Kanya Gurukul Senior Secondary School in all three streams i.e. Arts, Commerce and Science, and Guru Brahmnand Kanya Mahavidyalaya providing Arts, Commerce, Science and Computer Science education.
Kanya Gurukul Shiksha Samiti has lush green 22 Acres campus with modern infrastructure, laboratories and library for students. The Society also owns 28 Acres of land for further expansion. The society has a fleet of 10 buses to transport girls from their homes to the campus and back. The buses cover approximately 90 villages daily.
