
Guru Brahmanand Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Anjanathali successfully conducted a national level online seminar on the topic 'Role of women in the social and economic development of India', sanctioned by the Higher Education Department, Haryana. The seminar was jointly organised by IQAC, English Department and Women's Cell. About 250 scholars, researchers and students from universities, colleges and other institutions from different parts of the country presented their research papers in the seminar.Organised under the patronage of Kanya Gurukul Shiksha Samiti's head Chaudhary Rishipal and Principal Dr Gaini Devi, this seminar was jointly coordinated and conducted by IQAC and Women Cell in-charge Dr Aarti Bhatnagar and English Department Head Dr Pinky Kadian.Manjula Chaudhary participated as the chief guest and keynote speaker and Dr. Sangeeta Sharma, Principal of Dhand College and Dr. Ritu Sharma, Associate Professor of Dyal Singh College, Karnal, participated as special speakers and presented their views on the topics 'Industrial Age 4.0 and Women Empowerment', 'Women in Science-Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM)' and 'Women Empowerment and Literature' respectively. In the closing session, Dr. Ashima Gakkhar, Principal of Dyal Singh College, Karnal participated as the chief guest and speaker and spoke on socio-economic development.
The seminar mainly highlighted the contribution and challenges of women. In the seminar, research papers were read on topics such as role of women in economic development and progress, women in politics- representation and decision-making, digital literacy among women in rural and urban India, women in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fields, role of higher education institutions in women empowerment, workplace safety and occupational health for women, role of women in digital economy and e-commerce, representation of women in media and its socio-economic impact, women empowerment and literature etc. Dr. Urmila, Anjubala, Komal Dindyal, Dimple, Dr. Meenakshi, Dalveer Kaur, Shivani and Priyal helped in conducting the seminar. The management committee congratulated the entire team on the success of the seminar.
