 An extension lecture was organized on the occasion of Hindi Diwas at Guru Brahmanand Kanya Mahavidyalaya Anjanathali. Retired Associate Professor Dr. Shubh Lata of Chaudhary Ishwar Singh Kanya Mahavidyalaya Dhand attended the program as the chief guest and keynote speaker. Principal Dr. Gyani Devi welcomed the chief guest and introduced the students to her. Dr. Shubh Lata said in her address that Hindi is the third most spoken language in the world and thus it  has the status of a world language. Hindi is a scientific language, which is written as it is spoken. Today Hindi is taught in about 175 universities of the world. It is an irony that Hindi is progressing at the world level but it is not given due importance in our country. Today the youth of India is running after Hinglish, which is not right. Hindi is not just a language but it also works to transmit culture. It is a symbol of our ancient values ​​and traditions.

Hindi plays the role of a bridge between modernity and modernity. It is the responsibility of all of us to give Hindi a respectable place in our country and on the world stage. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Gyani Devi said that Hindi is a rich language which is rapidly making its place on the world stage. Today, in California, America, it has been decided to teach Hindi as a world language in government schools, which is a matter of great pride for all of us. We all have to take care of our language.

Speech competition organized on Hindi Diwas

Hindi Department Head Dr. Hemlata Sharma said that Hindi is the language that connects the country. She said that Hindi is not only a language but also our identity. We should not hesitate or feel ashamed in speaking Hindi. Mother tongue is the medium of strong expression.

In this competition, the role of judges was played skillfully by Rajni, Bina Singh, Manisha Phogat. In this competition, first year student Nabneet got first place, second year student Vriddhi got second place and second year student Madhu Geeta got third place. On this occasion, Dr. Simast Pal, Sonia Chhabda, Sonia Duhan, J Sakiran Kaur, K.D. Sharma were present.

One should feel proud of the mother tongue and should not hesitate in speaking Hindi. In the program, the students also presented a short play and song showing the importance of Hindi.
